A637

Murano Diamond Quilt Yellow MOP Rosebowl This beautiful large rosebowl is by Murano. It features a mother of pearl satin finish with a diamond quilt etched pattern. It also has a crystal "petals" style foot with frosted finish. It measures 5-1/2" in diameter at its widest, and nearly 6" tall. The bottom has an unground pontil mark, and bears the original Murano sticker. Although intially created as reproductions of the Victorian rose bowls, these copies (and I believe the yellow/green color of this one to be particularly good match) have become very collectible in their own right. This item is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.

Spangle Glass Basket Spangle glass, also known as Vasa Murrhina and sometimes aventurine, has flecks of mica covered with gold, silver, nickel, or copper. Spangle glass is usually cased with a thin layer of clear glass over the multicolored layer. In this case, we have white shading to a rich green, with silver spangles, under a clear glass casing. Twisted handle, deeply crimped edge, believed to be English-made. 8 inches x 10, in mint condition.

G1045

Murano Glass Ashtray Large ashtray (7 x 9.75 x 4 inches) with widely scattered and multi-colored millefiori canes in translucent milky-white glass. Curved edge roles into a shell shape at one side, with dip in lip to hold a cigarette. I'm guessing this may have been made in the 1950's or 1960's when smoking was so popular! Note small bubble in final photo, to left of millefiora.

B570

Clamshell Bowl - Italian? Scandinavian? I'm not sure where this clamshell-style bowl is from. I've been informed of both places of origin. It has lovely deep color from green to reddish amber, and two ground flats to allow it to sit either upright or at an angle. It measures 7" wide and 4" high, and has no chips or cracks.
