Limited Production & NIL Items

Be sure to check my other categories, especially Fenton categories, as it is often difficult to decide in which category to place some items. You can sometimes find unusual pieces in categories devoted to a particular glass treatment, or item type such as Toothpicks or Plates.

PL072

Fenton Bicentennial Eagle Plate, Amethyst Carnival This is a special NIL edition of Fenton's 1776-1976 Bicentennial Eagle plate (9418-CN). It is produced in amethyst carnival rather than the standard colors for this collection: Patriot Red, Valley Forge White, Independence Blue or Chocolate. It is 8" in diameter and the front shows the American Eagle surrounded by a circle of thirteen stars. The inscription on the back is different from the regular edition as well. Under an arch of 13 stars, it reads: 1776 Heritage
The Eagle and the Thirteen Stars, two of America's most cherished symbols, are shown to commemorate the bicentennial of the United States of America.
"God Bless America"
A rarity purchased direct from Fenton by my parents, in mint condition.

G224

Fenton Blue Opalescent Twisted Drapery Ewer NIL Here is another NIL item, a ewer in Blue Opalescent in the Twisted Drapery pattern. It measures 4-3/4" in diameter and 6-3/4" tall. I believe this to be a ewer rather than a cruet as its neck measures nearly 1-3/4" inside and is far too large for any Fenton stopper that I have been able to find. It has a crimped handle and is in excellent condition. Produced c. 1981.

B534

Fenton Orange Flowers on Ebony HP Vase Here is an unusual piece. Possibly a trial design done at the same time as Dianthus on Custard (which was designed by the same artist). The ebony black glass vase (7557) has yellow and orange dianthus flowers with green leaves handpainted by Linda Everson. There are smaller flowers on the reverse as shown, and even buds on each side. The vase measures 9-1/2" tall by 4-1/2" in diameter. In excellent condition, no chips or cracks.

G538

Fenton Dusty Rose Overlay Bubble Optic Vase As far as I've been able to determine, this was never a line item at Fenton. It is the 7258 shape 8" vase, in Dusty Rose overlay with a bubble optic pattern. It has the double crimp, and a Fenton logo on the bottom. Possibly a trial item purchased at Fenton's gift shop. I have two of these available, price is each.

G785

Fenton French Opalescent Dot Creamer/Pitcher This lovely little creamer in French Opalescent glass is from a limited edition collection of Victorian Pitchers and Cruets produced in 1986. I thought at first it might have been made for L.G. Wright, as it has the Eye Dot pattern of vertical rows of dots, but I've included a scan of the Fenton catalog page showing the collection. It is identified as #7877-FO. It stands 4-1/2" tall, has a fluted handle and is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. Fenton logo on bottom.

G598

Fenton Ebony Commemorative Vase This vase by Fenton was apparently a custom commemorative item or a proposed commemorative item. It is the standard 7558 6" Ebony vase but has an orange rose and bud handpainted and the following script on the bottom: "With Special Appreciation West Virginia Wesleyan 1981". This may have been a forerunner to Fenton's popular Copper Rose design. A lovely piece in excellent condition.
