Whitefriars, Francis Whittemore, Jonathon Winfisky, Karen Wolkoff

Whitefriars of London produced glass from the 1600's to 1981. At that time, they were purchased by Caithness and, although sold under the name of Whitefriars, did not bear any similarity to the old Whitefriars weights. The Whitefriars paperweights listed below are all pre-1981 authentic Whitefriars of London.

Francis Whittemore Pedestal Paperweight Francis Whittemore was a technical glassblower during the 40's and 50's and began artistic glass-blowing in the 1960's. His work is very difficult to find, since he never made any great quantity and has long since halted production.

This paperweight is 1.75 inches x 2.5, featuring a nosegay of red white and blue flowers and green leaves on a pale blue, almost white background. Signature W cane on front and back. #18 in this edition. In mint condition.

Paperweight by Karen Wolkoff Kind of a funky paperweight, with an orange flower encased in clear dome, free form stem. The flower clings to the underside of the dome, rather than being centered. I like it. Signed Wolkoff, '82. 2.75 inches x 2.5, in mint condition.
