The glass of this beautiful little vase is made from the volcanic ash from the eruption of Mt. St. Helens in 1980. It produces a lovely iridescence, as seen in these photos. The bud vase measures 4-1/2" tall x 3-1/4" in diameter. It is marked on the bottom: Mt. St. Helens Glass 1982. In excellent condition, no chips or cracks. Much of the ash has been used in pottery, so there are only so many items in glass from this limited source of material.
