Spangle glass, also known as Vasa Murrhina and sometimes aventurine, has flecks of mica covered with gold, silver, nickel, or copper. Spangle glass is usually cased with a thin layer of clear glass over the multicolored layer. In this case, we have white shading to a rich green, with silver spangles, under a clear glass casing. Twisted handle, deeply crimped edge, believed to be English-made. 8 inches x 10, in mint condition.
