James Shaw is known for his glass optic paperweights. He formerly worked for Lundberg Studios, cutting and polishing glass, then formed his own shop Star Cut Glass to work on glass optics - which he claims to have stumbled on by chance, while repairing a glass lens and deciding he was fascinated by refraction. Clear 45% lead crystal rectangle base with one concave cut and fan cut on base. Top cut to 30 degree angle. Etched JAS 85. 2 inches by 2 by 1.75. One of three paperweights by James Shaw that would make a nice set.
