Of all of the cameos I have seen, this is the first with a young male profile. I would guess a young roman. This very well carved cameo measures 2inches by 1 1/2 inches. The natural shell coloring lends itself into an excellent subject matter for the side profile of a young roman genleman. His hair is short cropped as well as his beard The cameo is slightly curved and placed in a gold colored frame. The clasp is a locking c style. The cameo is thin and can be worn either as a pin or pendant as it has a loop at the top. The light shines through it beautifully.
