Wear to page edges but book is in remarkable clean condition inside and some gilding intact.
Cover design and title page by Frank Hazenplug in a nice Art Nouveau design.
Two of the short stories in this book the author thanks Harper's Weekly and Cosmopolitan Magazine for permission in using them.
Very avant garde at the time book I believe.

Book Principles of Zoology Antique 1851 Very old 1851 antique book by Agassiz, Louis and Augustus A. Gould. Called the Principles of Zoology: Touching The Struggle, Development, Distribution,and Natural Arrangement of Races of Animals. This is the revised edition. Once upon a time the hardcover was nice brown leather with gilt lettering and the book is darker than the photo shows. Nice inside and it has the original owners B.J.Boynton info as Kal.College Dec 1855. Maybe a Christmas gift to him.
Though the outside of the book does have damage it is still a nice antiquarian book and doesn't have any odors.
