1940's Black Cocktail/Novelty Hat With Bows What a wonderful little 1940's cocktail or doll hat that was so popular before and during World War 2. You can almost picture Ginger Rogers wearing this out on the town with Fred Astair. This little black number was meant to be worn forward. The veil then would be over the forehead and eyes. There is a little elastic band to wear under your hair to hold the hat in place.
This one has a slight military air about it. It has a rolled brim that measures 1 1/2 inches in the front and 2 inches on the side. The high crown, 4 inches high, is decorated with 2 black satin bows. The inside of the hat is oval, not round, and measures 18 inches. The lable inside reads New York Creation, Adjustable. The hat is also marked as 100% wool and made in the U.S.A.
This is truly a darling creation and would make a great addition to any collection.

Vintage Basque Hunter Green Beret This is a great beret. A hunter green wool beret that is lined in green, yellow and black striped material. The deocration on the beret is military style. It is an embroidered patch with three stars and two bars.
The beret measures 21 inches around the inside of the headband which is leather. There are 2 black ribbons for adjustment.
The is a definite vintage piece and reflects its use. I count about 5 small moth holes. It has been well loved and worn but it is such a unique piece and looks great on, that we are offering it here. The price does reflect its worn state.

Child's straw hat--40's/50's There was a time when every little girl would get a new spring hat. This lovely little straw hat is from that time. Very sweet, faded flowers trim the red velvet ribbon around the crown of the hat. The ribbon hangs down 8 inches from the bow that decorates the back. The hat measures 19 3/4 inches around the inside brim.Even if you're not a little girl anymore and even if you don't know a little girl to give it to, it would be just right for displaying on your wall.
 

Sally Victor Spring Hat This is a very cute little spring/summer hat. The lable reads 'Miss Sally Victor New York.' Sweet little white flowers with green leaves peeking through encompass this tiny pillbox with red netting and red velvet bow. Two combs keep it in place. The hat forms a 5 inch circle about 3 inches high. Needs a cleaning by the lucky new owner.
 

Schiaparelli Paris This is a great white summer hat. The lable is Schiaparelli Paris. The straw pillbox type hat is done in swirls with a grosgrain ribbon that caps off the hat. There is a small stain on the ribbon that is barely noticeable.
 

c1915 Black Velveteen Hat Gorgeous Edwardian black velveteen hat that will thrill any collector. Because it is black, the photos do not do this hat justice and you cannot see the great detail. There is a black velveteen bow that decorates the back of the hat. The bow is 6 inches long by 2 1/2 inches wide and placed on a diagonal. There are 2 tucks that add detail just above the 2 inch brim. The inside of the hat measures 23 inches. The crown measures about 6 inches high. The lining which is a black cotton is in very good shape but does show some wear. There is no label. Overall the hat is in excellent condition. This is a great example of the early 1900's millinary trade.
 

Wide Brim Yellow Straw Hat The color is spring yellow on this wide brimmed straw hat. Three large (maybe silk) flowers trim the crown. Each flower is cream colored with a yellow tint and a touch of burnt orange in the middle. I'm not sure if they are to stand up more but they're adorable as is. The head band measures 19 inches. There is a bit of staining on the underside but it's not noticeable from the top.
 

1960's White Velveteen & Faux Fur Pillbox Hat This 1960's white velveteen and faux fur pillbox hat just makes you feel warm and cozy. It actually makes you look forward to the snowy days of winter.
This is a pure 60's hat with a crown that measures 3 inches high. The top is a white velveteen fabric trimmed with a 2 inch wide ribbon. The upturned brim measures 3 1/2 inches high in the front and 2 1/2 inches high in the back. The inside measurement is 15 inches around.
The only lable is the union made USA lable.
We added a porcelain pin to the hat to add some color. The pin is for sale in the signed costume jewelry section.
This is one of my favorite hats because it looks good on virtually everyone.
