| You're looking at an amazing flip toy called Boy on Trapeze still in the original box! This little fellow flips over the bar when you turn a knob. He was manufactured in Japan, patent no. 30-23220. I have no idea when exactly he dates to, but my guess is the late 1930's. Toy buffs out there feel free to correct me. The box is brightly colored and has a number of circus scenes and the original carrying string still at the top of the box and functional. The boy has seen some better days. At some point he lost his right leg which was made of a balloon type rubber. It also appears that the left post came loose at some point in the past and was reglued to the base. This toy is made out of some type of hard green rubber, or rubber like plastic, I'm not precisely certain what type. The box is in good condition, but has some scars and rips, but remains very visually appealing. Despite its flaws this unusual little toy makes a fantastic gift for the toy lover or child at heart in your life. |
