This is a great Victorian celluoid cover photo album. It is in wonderful shape with little wear on the album. The cover is fantastic. It is a blue cover with the fairy queen and 2 cherubs/cupids in white. The fairy has a beautiful face and flowing gown. She is sitting on a branch of blossums. The figures are raised and are beautifully depicted. The spine and back cover are a deep burgundy velveteen with very little wear. The clasp is complete and original. It is in very good working condition. The album measures 11 inches by 8 1/2 inches and holds 26 large cabinet-type photos and one page for 8 smaller photos--4 on each side. There are 12 large photos and 5 small photos.
The cover reminds me of Wedgwood Jasperware. This is a truly unique Victorian piece and a true collector's item. |
