Circa: 1920's
Original long sleeve jacket is worn over a sleeveless dress and a matching underdress. This pink dress is an outstanding example of a flapper dress that could be worn to a garden party or a more formal event. The jacket has a large shawl collar that measures 8 inches in the back and 5 inches in the front. The drop waist accents the flounces on the dress and underdress and the ties that are 24 inches long make a great bow in the front. The jacket measures 19 inches underarm to underarm. The bust is about 34/35 inches and hip is about 37 inches. There are 2 snaps at the hip. The sleeves are 22 inches long and open at the wrist. The armhole measures 8 1/2 inches so it is very wearable. The jacket measures 27 inches from the back neckline to the hips. The jacket covers a sleeveless dress that can be worn without the jacket. The dress has a v-neckline and tiny tuck stitching for a decorative touch. There is a 6 inch flounce at the bottom. The dress measures 32 inches from the back neckline to the bottom of the flounce. I counted 33 tiny tucks making up the back of the dress. Very, very cute. The dress measures 19 inches from underarm to underarm. Measures 14 1/2 inches shoulder to shoulder and 20 inches flat for the hips. The hip measuement should then be doubled. The dress hangs straight from the shoulders. The underdress is a very light pink fabric for the top and has 2 flounces in the same material as the over dress. The effect is 3 great flounces from the hip. The underdress has a keyhole back with a hook and eye closing. The underdress measures 21 inches from underarm to underarm. From the front neckline to the bottom flounce is 28 inches. The 2 flounces measure 6 inches and 7 inches wide. The underdress has been shortened a bit with and stitching to help the flounces lay correctly. There are 2 stains on the back jacket collar that we have not tried to work on at all. Both marks are photographed. They don't detract from the wearablity or the collectablity of the dress in my opinion. Overall the dress is in very good shape. It was worn at the opening premier of "Public Enemies" in Oshkosh, WI, where parts of the movie were filmed. |
