Circa: 1871 Condition: Used Manufacturer: hand made
Antique Victorian 21-22k gold (90% pure gold 10% copper) genuine coin brooch made of two 'Indian Head type 3'(sometimes called 'Indian Princess') one dollar gold pieces from 1856 and 1857 (I recently saw one of these coins online selling for $1,100.00!), and one English 1871 gold sovereign coin in the center. The sovereign has been smoothed out and the initials 'CA' or 'AC' engraved on the front. On the back is the date and a 'young head' Queen Victoria engraving. This brooch was probably made in the late 19th century when the coins were common as legal tender and at a time before the standardization of currency in the U.S. The brooch is approximately 2 inches wide by 1 inch high, with a hand made 'C' pin back. It is a very rare beauty! $19.50 Priority Mail insurance and shipping charge for this item in the U.S. |
