Haviland Limoges Presidential Oyster Plate
This is a gorgeous Haviland Limoges Presidential oyster plate. Its colors are rich, and it is a wonderful example of the Presidential pattern.
This oyster plate is in wonderful condition. One small chip had been professionally repaired by one of South Florida's top porcelain repair specialists. The repair is not visible, even under magnification. Other than that, this oyster plate is in spectacular condition, including the quality of the gold.
c 1880s! Diameter is 8 3/4 inches.

Haviland Limoges Oyster Plate - Boteler Mold
This is an exquisite and extraordinary Haviland Limoges oyster plate in the Boteler mold. The mold was patented by Boteler on 16 June 1874.
It is in superb condition, with no chips, cracks, restorations, hairlines, etc. The gold is fabulous. The marks date it from 1879 to 1889. Similar examples can be seen in Oyster Plates by Jim and Vivian Karsnitz.
This would be a wonderful addition to any fine oyster plate collection.

This is a gorgeous Charles Field Haviland Limoges Wave mold oyster plate with hand painted sea creatures and sea flora.

Haviland Limoges France 1880s Oyster Plate
This is a spectacular Haviland Limoges oyster plate with hand-painted sea creatures. The porcelain is white and beautifully translucent.
The hand-painted sea horse, sea turtle and crab make this a very special oyster plate!
The condition is superb, with no chips, restorations, cracks, hairlines, etc.
The under glaze green mark was used from 1876 until 1889. The red decorator's mark was used from 1879 until 1889.

Haviland Presidential Turkey Oyster Plate
President Rutherford B. Hayes (1877-1881) commissioned oyster plates designed by Theodore R. Davis and executed by Haviland and Co. In this design, five figural oyster wells are surrounded by southern raccoon oysters, with the outside of their shells creating a pattern which resembles a turkey with a beak at one end and tail feathers at the other.

Absolutely pristine condition; beautifully decorated; no stacking wear. The photos tell the story, but the plate is even more beautiful in person.
Many designs were subsequently painted on the same turkey porcelain mold (see Snyder pages 61-76), including some identical to the Presidential set, but marked, additionally, with the 1880 patent indicia. Karsnitz pictures one from Thomas A. Edison’s set on page 34.
Turkey patterned oyster plates were so popular that other porcelain makers imitated them, notably Carl Tielsch (Silesia) and Stangl (Trenton, NJ). Indeed, the lower right, upper right and left plates depicted on Snyder pages 66, 67 and 68 respectively, are actually Tielsch designs – note the difference in the molded seaweed ribbons, the subtle difference in the plate rim and the straightness of the turkey’s throat.
Having a Haviland Presidential oyster plate is a dream for many serious collectors and if you were to have only one oyster plate, wouldn’t it be great if this were it.

Haviland Turkey Oyster Plate - Beautiful!
JUST REDUCED!
This is one of the most beautiful turkey oyster plates we have ever seen. The colors are vibrant, and the porcelain is fabulous. With one exception (please see second photo), this oyster plate is in superb condition and would enhance any oyster plate collection. There is a chip on the sits rim. It is about 2-21/2 inches, but in no way detracts from the beauty of this plate or its ability be displayed proudly. There is camera glare. Other than that, there are no chips, cracks, repairs, etc. Its mark dates it to the late 19th or very early 20th century. Its diameter is 9 1/2 inches.
This would make a fabulous Mother's Day Gift.

This is an exquisite gold and white turkey oyster plate, with its mark dating back to 1875-1882. The turkey is well defined; the plate is in excellent condition, as shown in the photographs. Charles Field Haviland Limoges Oyster Plate

This is an elegant Charles Field Haviland Limoges oyster plate with handles.
Page 57 of Collecting Oyster Plates by Jeffrey Snyder shows a plate from the same mold and period (1891-1900), with a price indication of $500+.
While this oyster plate has some age related gold loss (please see photos), there are no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs, etc. The oyster plate is in excellent condition. Any white spots are due to camera glare. The diameter is approximately 8 3/4 inches.
The intricate asymmetric porcelain mold shape is particularly captivating, and the porcelain remains bright and translucent. The floral decoration is crisp and clean, as well.
