Limoges France Turkey Oyster Plate We are pleased to present a beautiful Limoges France Turkey Oyster Plate, for Gilman Collamore, NYC. While it is not marked Haviland Limoges, it is signature Haviland, and is definitely from the late 1800s. It is authentic.

It is free of any chips, cracks, restorations, etc. The gold is in great shape. The diameter is nine inches.

CFH Haviland Limoges France Oyster Plate This is a delightful and very old oyster plate from Charles Field Haviland Limoges France. It also has a wonderful dragonfly. The pictures do not do it justice.

It is in excellent condition, although there is some gold loss - you will be able to see in in the pictures. It does not take away from the beauty of this oyster plate.

The diameter is 8 inches, and the mark dates it to the 1880s.

CFH Haviland Limoges France Oyster Plate This is a spectacular example of Charles Field Haviland's fabulous artistry! This wave oyster plate has wonderful gold marine life on a creamy background. It is in superb condition, with no chips, cracks, restorations, hairlines, etc. The diameter is 8 1/2 inches.

The CFH over GDM mark dates this exquisite oyster plate to the 1880s.

Haviland Presidential Turkey Oyster Plate President Rutherford B. Hayes (1877-1881) commissioned oyster plates designed by Theodore R. Davis and executed by Haviland and Co. In this design, five figural oyster wells are surrounded by southern raccoon oysters, with the outside of their shells creating a pattern which resembles a turkey with a beak at one end and tail feathers at the other.

Absolutely pristine condition; beautifully decorated; no stacking wear. The photos tell the story, but the plate is even more beautiful in person.

Many designs were subsequently painted on the same turkey porcelain mold (see Snyder pages 61-76), including some identical to the Presidential set, but marked, additionally, with the 1880 patent indicia. Karsnitz pictures one from Thomas A. Edison’s set on page 34.

Turkey patterned oyster plates were so popular that other porcelain makers imitated them, notably Carl Tielsch (Silesia) and Stangl (Trenton, NJ). Indeed, the lower right, upper right and left plates depicted on Snyder pages 66, 67 and 68 respectively, are actually Tielsch designs – note the difference in the molded seaweed ribbons, the subtle difference in the plate rim and the straightness of the turkey’s throat.

Having a Haviland Presidential oyster plate is a dream for many serious collectors and if you were to have only one oyster plate, wouldn’t it be great if this were it.

Charles Field Haviland Limoges Oyster Plate JUST REDUCED!

This is an elegant Charles Field Haviland Limoges oyster plate with handles.

Page 57 of Collecting Oyster Plates by Jeffrey Snyder shows a plate from the same mold and period (1891-1900), with a price indication of $500+.

While this oyster plate has some age related gold loss (please see photos), there are no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs, etc. The oyster plate is in excellent condition. Any white spots are due to camera glare. The diameter is approximately 8 3/4 inches.

The intricate asymmetric porcelain mold shape is particularly captivating, and the porcelain remains bright and translucent. The floral decoration is crisp and clean, as well.

Haviland Limoges Oyster Plate - Boteler Mold This is an exquisite and extraordinary Haviland Limoges oyster plate in the Boteler mold. The mold was patented by Boteler on 16 June 1874.

It is in superb condition, with no chips, cracks, restorations, hairlines, etc. The gold is fabulous. The marks date it from 1879 to 1889. Similar examples can be seen in Oyster Plates by Jim and Vivian Karsnitz.

This would be a wonderful addition to any fine oyster plate collection.

CFH/GDM Wave Design with HP Gold Seaweed JUST REDUCED!

This is the absolutely best decoration on a Wave Design we have ever seen. It is a multi-colored metallic treatment, which ranges from copper and bronze tones to strikingly shiny fine gold highlights. The painstakingly developed detail in the seaweed creates a rich visual presentation. This hand painted plate is a treasure for its beauty, age, design, rarity, condition and Charles Field Haviland breeding. The background porcelain is bright and translucent, with fine relief, which very capably sets the stage for the hand painted artistry that follows. Four Haviland Brushed Gold Oyster Plates Simply elegant! Hand brushed gold on sparkling white porcelain, in a classic Haviland mold design, makes these four oyster plates very special, indeed. Haviland Pink and Blue Floral Oyster Plate JUST REDUCED!

Classic Haviland porcelain design with pink and blue floral transfer decoration creates a lovely overall presentation. This five-well oyster plate comes from the same mold as our Item #: HC012A. The porcelain scrolls, which define each well, have wave-like qualities. The floral decoration is beautifully detailed, with very appealing soft color combinations. The green under glaze mark and the red decorators mark are both those of Haviland & Company and date this piece to sometime after 1891. This oyster plate is in mint condition. Magnificent Haviland Oyster Plate - The Rose JUST REDUCED!

By any other name it looks this good. What a fabulous antique porcelain oyster plate from Haviland (H & Co.)! The wonderfully delicate translucent porcelain and the fine design and decoration blend beautifully. The five oyster-shaped wells, with their hand painted muscle scars, are overlaid with a bounty of bright red roses and blue forget-me-nots; stunning! This is the Haviland floral to compare to any. The underglaze mark predates 1891 and the importers mark, made for Warren & Wood, Providence, RI, adds special additional character. This plate comes from the same mold as two plates featured by Jeffery B. Snyder (on p. 60 his book Collecting Oyster Plates), with indicated values in excess of $1,000. This beautiful and unique piece, in perfect condition, would make a worthy to addition to the most magnificent oyster plate magnificent collection.
