Manufacturer: Haviland What a lovely oyster plate! Delicate flowers on exquisite porcelain make this oyster plate a must for the discerning collector. Five belon-shaped oyster wells (see belon oysters pictured below) surround the center sauce well in classic Theodore Haviland style. This plate is unusual and very desirable for its intricate, asymmetric plate shape and raised porcelain, designs depicting both waves and rose vines. The floral transfer decoration echos the porcelain rose vine theme. The mark, as shown on page 180 of Gaston's Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges, dates this beautiful plate between 1903 and 1925.
