This is a classic Theodore Haviland oyster plate, with delicate flowers on beautifully bright and translucent porcelain. Five belon-shaped oyster wells surround the center sauce well. The porcelain designs around the rim and center well add nicely to the overall presentation. The decorating mark, as shown on page 180 of Gaston's Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges, dates this lovely plate between 1903 and 1925. The plate also bears the impressed TH makers mark. This piece is in perfect condition and ready for proud display. |
