JUST REDUCED!
This is the absolutely best decoration on a Wave Design we have ever seen. It is a multi-colored metallic treatment, which ranges from copper and bronze tones to strikingly shiny fine gold highlights. The painstakingly developed detail in the seaweed creates a rich visual presentation. This hand painted plate is a treasure for its beauty, age, design, rarity, condition and Charles Field Haviland breeding.

| The background porcelain is bright and translucent, with fine relief, which very capably sets the stage for the hand painted artistry that follows. Just after 1891, the decoration on this plate took the latest evolution of the CFH/GDM wave design porcelain mold to new heights, which have not, in our opinion, been surpassed, since. The wonderful brushed gold rim, still in perfect condition, reinforces the elegance of the overall presentation. We love this plate, and have decided to share our enjoyment. Admittedly, we have another just like it; otherwise, I am afraid it would be no sale. If you appreciate and collect CFH Wave Designs, like we do, you’ll want to add this one to your display. If you are a broadly-based oyster plate collector, this might be the one Wave Design you should own. |
