Fabulous c1900 flow blue transferware, from renowned Swedish maker Rörstrand. This shallow bowl or plate measures just under one inch in height and just over 9 inches in diameter. It depicts an equestrian hunter with spear challenging the King of Beasts in an East Asian setting (perhaps Mongolia, Nepal or Tibet). Towering snowcapped mountains loom in the background. Despite 100+ years, this piece shows only very fine crazing and has no chips or cracks. The white background has developed a subtle ivory tone but there is no staining. It bears the impressed Rörstrand mark. It displays beautifully, especially with two or more like pieces.
