Just in time for the holidays, offered here is a 14 piece Coiffe Barritz Limoges fish set.
This gorgeous set includes the platter, sauce with underplate and 11 plates. All pieces are in excellent condition and signed by the artist, Campos. They are double stamped on the back. In red is Biarritz, W.S. Co., Limoges, France. In green is the reknowned House of Coiffe starburst with France underneath. Note the intricate handles - very rare and extremely well done.
The platter is 25 inches long. The eleven plates are 9-1/2 inches in diameter. The sauce has an underplate which fits perfectly with the shape of the bottom of the sauce.
The plates feature six different fish scenes. There are five pairs, and then there is the 11th plate. There are no chips, hairlines, cracks, etc. This antique rare set is beautifully painted and heavily trimmed in gold. The gold is in magnificent condition.
