We have truly never seen a more gorgeous sardine box. The photos will definitely tell the story. This is a two-piece Franz Anton Mehlem porcelain sardine box. The underplate is attached.

The underplate is approximately 7 1/2 x 9 inches. The lid is
approximately 6 3/4 x 5 1/2 inches. The height is approximately 6 3/4
inches from the base of the underplate to the top of the dolphin finial.

Experts have dated these marks from the 1880's to the 1920's.

The overall condition is superb, with no chips, cracks, repairs, hairlines, etc. The colors are wonderful, more vibrant than the photos show, and any white spots are from camera glare. Also, please feel free to email us, should you need additional photos - they are available.

Insurance is required for shipping this item, and we will pack extremely carefully to ensure safe arrival.

This would make an amazing addition to any antique porcelain or sardine box collection.
