Circa: 1880s Manufacturer: E. Pouyat
This is an exquisite Emile Pouyat Limoges France Shooter for oysters. It is in wonderful condition, and it is approximately 3 x 3 inches.
Emile artist signed it on the front, as can be seen in our first picture.
Some background - Pouyat Family Tree: Jean Pouyat established a company circa 1842 in Limoges and was succeeded by his sons Emile (1806-92), Louis (b 1809) and Leonard-Eugene (1817-76). Emile trained at Locre factory (Paris) and was head of the Limoges factory from 1849 to 1883. W. Guerin bought the Pouyat Limoges factory in 1911. As a result, we are dating this to c 1880s.
Given its rarity, we have priced in accordingly.
