This is a Weimar oyster plate, but the mark is very faint; however, the Weimar shield mark can been seen. It is there, but it looks like an effort was made at the time of manufacture to conceal the Weimar mark.
The decorating is almost more Dresden in style, color and appearance, so it is possible that Dresden decorated this Weimar oyster plate. Dresden and Weimar are very near each other in Germany.
It is in fabulous condition, witn no chips, cracks, restorations, hairlines, etc. The porcelain is beautifully translucent, and the Dresdenesque colors are fresh, not faded. The diameter is 8 1/4 inches.
Circa 1890s-1900.
This would be a spectacular addition to any fine oyster plate collection or a cherished gift for that special collector!
