ABP Cut Glass Nappy or Bon Bon Dish with Single Open Handle. This lovely cut glass handled nappy or Bon-Bon low bowl comes from the American Brilliant Period and features an irregular shaped sawtooth or fluted scalloped rim. This nappy features an open loop handle and the bottom of the bowl has pointed diamond nailheads. The dish itself has a pattern of a hobstar dominance motif alternating with cross hatching.
The nappy also known as a caboret or divided bowl has four sections and measures 8” across by almost 3” tall to its open handle. It does have a broken section but it still displays well. This bonbon bowl has been Black light tested and glows with a yellow hue. We approximate it to circa 1918, which make this nappy dish a perfect example of an American Brilliant Period transitional piece. These pieces of glass were cut with a combination of American Brilliant style and Flower Period style.
This great piece has been discounted to allow for its flaw. |
