Extremely cool vintage toy uranium detector made by Glacial Mineral Products Co. I don't find any dates but suspect that it's from the late 1950's or early 1960's. What it is, is actually witching or dowsing rods dressed up with some space age washers. Really the best thing about this is the box. Great graphics on the front and the box is in excellent condition.

| Appears completely unused as stored. Inside are four rods and the instructions for assembly and the parts for putting it together. Never opened, never used. The parts package is still sealed. The box measures 17 1/2 inches long and 4 3/4 inches wide. So, throw away your metal detector because this says it locates buried treasure, entertaining and practical, and to top it off, it glows in the dark (I think there is a tube of stuff that you coat on the rods, I wouldn't touch it though, you'll probably go sterile) Anyway, check out the freckle faced little prospector on the front. |
