Nippon RC Hand Painted Gold Beaded Swag Sauce Boat and Underplate
Beautiful old Nippon RC (Royal Crockery) tear drop shape hand painted and gold beaded porcelain sauce bowl and underplate. Green Nippon mark dates back to about 1911. Perfect for sauces, mayonnaise or gravy. Each piece is hand painted with raised beaded gold swags. Enamel gold paint surrounds 8 delicate pink flowers with touches of pink surrounded by green leaves. The bowl measures 6 1/4 inches long, 4 1/2 inches wide, 1 7/8 inches tall. The underplate is 7 1/8 inches long, 5 7/8 inches wide. There is one dull spot at one point, but this could be dirt. I did not try to clean or polish. There are no chips or cracks. There is no damage to the gold, or the bead work. There are no scratches, so it looks as if it was never used. The bowl is marked on the bottom with the green Nippon mark. The plate is not marked, as it was probably sold as a set.
