This is a 9.5" hand painted Limoges plate featuring a study of a beautiful lady with a red rose in her hair. The background is cream around the edge, and pale blue in the center. The portrait is set within a raised gilded oval, which gives the effect of a cameo. The lady is wearing a delicate enameled pearl necklace in addition to the rose. The wide gilded border shows typical wear, and there are a few faint scratches in the center which are visible when tilted to the light. This would be an outstanding addition to a collection of Limoges rose pieces!
