This is a 1920's book rack with brass plated cast iron ends embossed with a Roman chariot drawn by a pair of horses. The inside of each end is embossed with the number 9958. The ends measure 5 7/8" wide x 4 7/8" high, and the brass runners extend from 8 1/2" to 15" when open. The finish shows typical wear, and the metal is in excellent condition.
