Nice parlor 1890's suite "his and her" Eastlake style matching chairs. Eastlake style was named after the Englishman, Charles Locke Eastlake, because of styles desrcibed in his book, "Hints on Household Taste (1869). Both chairs have a pierced and incised crest rail and seat rail. Both chairs have 4 porcelain casters, with turned front legs and splayed back legs. Upholstery is worn, faded and needs replaced, minor wood chips and knicks. Overall the frames are in excellent condtion. Dimensions: "his"= over all height = 37.75", over all width= 24", seat top= 18" from the ground; "her"= over all height = 38", over all width= 18.5", seat top= 19" from the ground.
