Since 1826, Herend has produced one of the most outstanding and distinctive porcelains in a small village near Budapest, Hungary. Each piece is handpainted by the Herend artists. This hard to find piece was obtained by me around 1979. The bird is perched on the top of a stump and measures 4-1/4" high. It appears very festive with red beries and green leaves on the front.The underside of base has blue mark: Herend Hungary Handpainted and #5044 is impressed into base. No cracks or chips - MINT
