| Since 1826, Herend has produced one of the most outstanding and distinctive porcelains in a small village near Budapest, Hungary. Each piece is handpainted by the Herend artists. This piece was obtained by me around 1979. Rothschild Bird (RO) by Herend is a handpainted bird, floral, insect design on porcelain. This lovely oval open work basket measures 8-1/4" long, 6-1/4" wide and stands 2-1/4" high. The center features the Rothschild Bird design with four butterflys and gold trims the openwork both inside and out. The slightly flaired scalloped edge on top is trimmed in gold as well as the base. The underside of base is marked in blue: Herend Handpainted Hungary #7403/RO. There are no chips or cracks - MINT! |
