| In 1890 this company was appointed "Manufacurers of Pocelain to Her Majesty" and given the privilege of using the title "The Royal Crown Derby Porcelain Company". Then in 1964 the Royal Crown Derby became part of a group of factories, Allied English Potteries,Ltd., England's largest manufacturer of lovely bone china. Traditional Imari #2451, is an elegant, all over design of cobalt blue and rust florals on a white porcelain background with lavish gold gilt scroll throughout. The flat, slightly fluted cup measures 2-1/2" high and 3" in diameter and the slightly fluted saucer measures 5-3/4" in diameter. The base of each is marked in red: Royal Crown Derby Made in England 2451 Bone China. There are no chips, cracks or stains and would be a wonderful addition to any cup and saucer collection. (Note: It was difficult to photograph and there are reflections on the gold from the flash) |
