Since 1826, Herend has produced one of the most outstanding and distinctive porcelains in a small village near Budapest, Hungary. Each piece is handpainted by the Herend artists. This piece was obtained by me around 1979. This lovely pierced openwork egg-shaped bonbon features an all over floral design. The lid is pink floral trimmed in gold with blue and coral flowers and green leaves on either side of the lid. The base has a blue flower with green leaves and a pink border - inside is white. This lovely pastel egg measures 4-1/2" long, 3" at widest point, and 3" high and would be great for potpourri. The underside of base is marked in blue: Herend Handpainted Hungary #6048/121C. There are no chips or cracks on either piece--the condition is MINT!
