| Mottahedeh has produced elegant fine pocelain china since the 17th century. Mildred and Rafi Mottahedeh, inspired by rare original antiques and attention to detail, have set the standards high in the china industry. This cup and saucer set was produced in Portugal by Vista Alegre for Mottahedeh. I have not been able to identify the pattern, but it is white with a delicate handpainted gold design. The slightly scalloped edge saucer measures 5-1/4" in diameter and the cup stands 2-1/2" high and 3" in diameter with the handpainted gold design on the outside of each cup and a lovely rose and daisy design in the center bottom. The base is marked in green: VA Portugal- FOR MOTTAHEDEH-Handpainted. There are no chips, cracks or stains and would be a wonderful addition to any collection. MINT |
