Dorchester Pottery was made in Dorchester, MA. (USA) from 1898 to 1979. This is a vintage serving plate from the 1950s. The rare pattern features a beautifully decorated pussywillow design in the center of the plate on a blue swirl background. The plate has been in my family collection since the 1950s, measures 12.75" diameter and is in wonderful condition. The base is marked with DORCHESTER STONEWARE, C.A.H. (Charles A. Hill, decorator),the DORCHESTER POTTERY circular stamp and N. Ricci, faci in a dark blue background (master potter). There are no cracks, repairs although there is one very small chip on plate(see picture) and the glaze is a smooth, even matte finish with no misses or crawl. This is a wonderful piece to add to any Dorchester and/or pottery collection.
