In 1981 the first plate in the limited edition Lenox (USA) and Boehm Colonial Christmas Wreath Plate Series (1981-1993) was produced for the first colony ~ Virginia. This unique series features Christmas wreaths created with the natural materials that were native to each of the thirteen colonies. This wreath is made of pine cones and branches, cotton pods, holly berries, yew and mistletoe. The plate was designed by Edward Marshall Boehm and handcrafted on a 10-3/4" diameter Lenox china plate. Each plate has the traditional Lenox ivory background and is lavishly trimmed with a band of 24K gold. In MINT condition, this plate has never been displayed, comes with a three page pamphlet from Lenox in original box.
