Vintage Dorchester Pottery Stoneware individual covered soup/casserole dish featuring a hand decorated PEACH design on both front and back and also the lid. The casserole measures approximately 5-1/2" handle to handle, 4-1/2" diameter, and 2-1/4" high. The inside features a blue swirl and measures 3-3/4" diameter x 1-3/4" deep. The lid measures 3-3/4" diameter and has the matching fruit design and a solid blue knob on top. The base is marked with DORCHESTER POTTERY, C.A.H. (Charles A. Hill, decorator). The glaze is a smooth, even matte finish, there are no cracks (other than a firing crack near a handle) or repairs - normal Dorchester glaze drip imperfections. This is a wonderful piece to add to any Dorchester and/or pottery collection. |
