The cover has gently bumped corners and is slightly darkened and the slipcase has rubs and is sunned. The pages are clean with guilt on the top edge and many black/white illustrations. 1899 1st Edition Book on AMERICAN INDIAN History -
This Historically Important Book is an 1899 1st Edition by H.B. Cushman and is titled 'A HISTORY OF THE CHOCTAW, CHICKASAW AND NATCHEZ INDIANS'. It is hardbound with original brown cloth and gilt lettering and a frontis photo of the author. The corners, spine and edges are bumped and chipped and the front cover is slightly warped lengthwise. The front paste down has some pencil marks. It measures about 9 inches tall and 6 inches wide. Because of the inferior quality of the paper used, the pages show browning and edge wear but are in better condition than most copies of this title (just a few corner folds and tears). At the top and bottom there are single insect boring holes that go from page 519 to the last page (607) (see photos). The publisher was HEADLIGHT PRINTING HOUSE, Greenville, Texas. |

This is a 1st Edition of the 1909 novel MISTR KAMPANUS, signed and dated by the author Zikmund Winter (1846-1912), a noted Czech historian. Written in Czechoslovakian, the book is about the life of the 17th Century Czech humanist Jan Campanus. It is 292 pages long, with full leather binding (worn, with slight warping to cover). 1759 BOOK L CAELII LACTANTII FIRMAIANI by FR XAVERIO -
This rare book was published in 1759 in Rome. It was authored by Fr. Eduardus A S. Xaverio C.E. (in Latin) on various readings and commentary relating to the 4th Century Christian author Lactantius. The title page reads "L. Caelii Lactantii Firmiani Carmina Omnia Quae Extant" (Opera). It has a vellum on board binding which has a large torn area on the back as well as other pin holes, scrapes and soiling (see photos). The front board is warped and does not lay flat. It has an old bookplate pasted inside the cover that reads ALOISII MARSUZI JACOBI F. The pages (260 total) show some browning and foxing. It measures about 5-5/8 x 8-3/8 inches. It has around nine illustrations. |

BOOK THE MARVELOUS LAND of OZ July 1904 BREAKER AS IS -
This book is called a "Breaker" because of its bad condition and missing pages but, because it is such a rare book, someone might need some of its remaining pages to restore another copy. The cover and binding are torn and split as seen in the photos. Most of the pages are loose, edge worn, soiled and/or torn. See photos of the edges of the pages where paper has been lost. There are 14 (of 16) loose colors plates. If you are interested in certain pages, I can send photos and descriptions of those pages.

This is the 1st Edition, 2nd State of the July 1904 book published by The Reilly & Britton Company, Chicago and that originally totaled 287 pages.
