This 2-volume hard cover (no jackets) set of Government issued reference books is very hard to find in the original editions like these. The title page reads HISTORY OF THE BUREAU OF YARDS AND DOCKS AND THE CIVIL ENGINEER CORPS 1940-1946. U.S. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE WASHINGTON 1947. Vol. 1 contains 447 pages and Vol. 2 contains 522 pages. Included are many b/w photos and several foldout maps. The corners and bottom of spines are bumped and covers show only light wear (spotting towards spines bottom- photo). Clean tight pages with Vol.1 pages showing folds from bumping at the top and bottom corners. There is some soiling seen on edges of pages when book is closed. Bureau’s stamp is on inside of cover.
