JAPANESE CLOISONNE VASE -
This enameled Cloisonné Vase was made in Japan in the late 1940s. It features various shades of green enameled floral separated with brass wire. It is about 5 inches tall and has no chips.
HIRADO-JIPPO JAPANESE CLOISONNE FLORAL VASE -
This fine Japanese Vase features a carved background (chiseled bas taille) over which was applied transparent red enamel (called Pigeon Blood Cloisonné or asasuke). (The design is indented stipples and Bamboo with a flying Bird.) The front features opaque enameled cloisons of pink and white Roses to form the style known as Hirado-jippo. It is about 6-1/8 inches tall and 3-3/8 inches wide with no chips or cracks. It has silver wire, foot and rim and does not have any makers marks. It was made during the 1920s or 1930s.
JAPANESE CLOISONNE HANDLED CUP -
This enameled Cloisonné Cup was made in Japan in the 1920s. It features butterflies and flowers against a background of dominate cobalt blue enamel with green and brown enameled trim, all separated with fine wire. Goldstone specks are dispersed throughout the cobalt enamel. The inside features flowers against a pale blue background. The enamel contains many overall dimples where it did not fill the cloisons evenly. It is about 2 inches tall, 3-5/8 inches in diameter and is unsigned.
