VINTAGE NEPHRITE JADE TURTLE SHAPED FIGURINE -
This vintage oriental figure of a Turtle with the Head of a Dragon was hand carved from Nephrite Jade and comes with its original custom carved wooden stand. Even the turtle’s feet and tail are carved on the bottom of the figurine (see photo). It is about 4-3/4 inches long and shows no damage. It was made in Northern China in the 1920s or 1930s before the start of WWII.
VINTAGE NEPHRITE JADE VASE w DRAGON FIGURINE -
This vintage oriental figure of a Vase was hand carved from Nephrite Jade and comes with its original custom carved wooden three-footed stand. The darker areas of the stone were used for relief carvings of a Dragon and Clouds. It is about 6 inches tall (with its stand) and shows no damage. It was made in Northern China in the 1920s or 1930s before the start of WWII.
VINTAGE NEPHRITE JADE SITTING BUDDHA FIGURINE -
This vintage oriental figure of a Sitting Buddha in Meditation was hand carved from Nephrite Jade and comes with its original custom carved wooden stand in the shape of Lotus Leaves. The darker side of the stone was used as the backdrop so as to highlight the lighter green of the Buddha. The Buddha is holding a bottle in its hands, so it may also have something to do with medicine or good health. On the back are two columns of archaic oriental characters (see photo). It is about 9 inches tall (with its stand) and shows no damage. It was made in Northern China in the 1920s or 1930s before the start of WWII.
SERPENTINE JADE 1960 FIGURINE -
This serpentine jade carving represents art of a very short time period, 1960's,'The Cultural Revolution'. The movies and magazine articles of the time, showed the Red Guard parading on the street with one person in the front banging the gong for attention. This 10 inch tall jade carving is of that front man and his gong. Except for some dark inclusions in the left arm, gong and hip it is a very good quality jade and is in mint condition.
