VINTAGE FRENCH PLATE with SCENES for each MONTH -
Each of these five (5) matching 19th Century French Earthenware Plates depict a Victorian Era Scene representing activities for the month of the calendar along with the name of the month in French. FEVRIER (February) shows Harlequins in costume dancing in the street. MARS (March) shows Ladies with umbrellas in the rain. JUIN (June) shows a Horse Race. SEPTEMBRE (September) shows Bird Hunters and a Dog. DECEMBRE (December) shows Ice Skaters on a pond. The rims have an in-mold decoration of flowers and ruffles. The edges of the rim were originally trimmed in gold, but most of it has worn off. They have overall glaze crazing and spots of browning from age. They are about 8 inches in diameter with no chips or cracks. The backs are not marked. Priced per piece, you can order up to the quantity still available.
