NORTHWOOD BLUE OPAL SHELL and WILD ROSE BOWL -
The Northwood Glass Company made this Blue Opalescent Glass bowl in 1906. The pattern is called SHELL AND WILD ROSE. It features an opal edge of open inverted hearts pulled in a shallow jack-in-pulpit style. There are also opal highlights on the flowers and the three feet. It is about 7 ¾ inches in diameter. During production, some of the opal glass coloring ran into the bowl on one side creating a slag glass appearance in that spot. The inside of the bowl has straw marks (fold marks from the molding process). There are no chips or cracks. |
