Old Painted Composition Doll She’s probably from the 40’s, has no marks but could be German. Her clean features (blue eyes) and hair are hand painted . The movable one piece arms and legs are slightly bent so she looks cute in a sitting position. Overall length 10 ½ in.(27cm). There is a chip under one ear. There is also a chip on her shoulder(haha)and there are a few “pock marks” in the glaze on the head. See close up photo.
She is just waiting to be all dressed up by her new owner!


 

German Celluloid Stand-Up Soldier doll
I think these old celluloid toys must have another name but I don’t know what it is. Can anybody tell me? The round base of the figure is weighted so that if you tip him over he pops right up again. The doll, standing at attention has a hand painted brown uniform and helmet. It’s features are also painted. The trade mark on the back is a small raised profile of a hawks head and the word "France". It’s height is 2 3/8 inches (6 cm). This little guy is an
original addition to your military collection.

Betty Boop or Googly Type Vinyl Doll She has the big painted black eyes and the molded curly hair typical for Betty Boop. This cute little vinyl doll from the fifties can stand up alone. The painted hair is an attractive golden yellow. The body is unjointed and the little arms are straight. It’s height is 6 ½ inches (17 cm). Incised on the upper back is "made in ???????. Vintage Swiss Doll with Geneva Costume This pretty doll has beautiful and carefully hand painted features. Her head is a composition and the rest of her body is tightly sewed pink cotton material. She is wearing the Geneva folk costume with the typical neck scarf and lace lined straw hat. Her hair is neatly set brown mohair. On her feet are simple black slippers. Under the green skirt is a stiff crinoline petticoat. There is a bit of light no harm fading on the pink apron. She is 11 ½ inches (29cm) tall. Geneva is in the French part of Switzerland. Each "county" has it’s own local costume.

She has on a white petticoat and stockings with black felt shoes. She has a brown mohair wig and a perky hat trimmed with felt flowers. This doll’s dress is made of two tones of felt with a pretty cerise apron. There is a red and a white felt heart on her bosom. The blue eyes and other features are hand painted. Attached is an original tag that reads "Rosina" Schaffhausen. Schaffhausen is a town in the German speaking part of Switzerland. Each "county" has it’s own local costume. The condition is excellent and unused. The face has no irregularities as might be thought from the photos. The doll is 7 inches (16cm) in height. G6.1.4 Doll Head Art Deco Hat Stand This unusual little 9 inch high hat stand is probably German. The doll’s head is papier-mâché, hand painted with a mohair wig. The green wooden stand is decorated with hand painted pink flowers. The beige cotton flapper style hat is decorated with a felt collar and flowers. I guess the best description would be shabby chic as the whole thing is quite aged but the textile parts could be taken off and washed. The dainty hand painted face has some scruffs too.
