Evening in Paris Bakelite Owl Perfume Most collectable is this perfume bottle container in the shape of a cute little owl with nice big orange eyes. The box is made of mottled blue Bakelite. The back of the owl opens revealing a small dark blue empty bottle resting on a violet cushion. The bottle has a silver label which reads Evening in Paris, Soir de Paris, Bourjois, made in England. On the lower back is printed the same words plus a registration number 8255003. The back of the owl is a little lighter that the front probably from exposure. The general condition is very good. The height of the owl is 3 ¾ inches (9.5 cm). This hard to find Art Deco treasure dates from the 1930s. Overseas surface mail $8.00. Airmail $18.00





 

Vintage Hanky Holder with Ribbon Embroidery This is such a pretty hand made handkerchief case made of padded silk and beautiful ribbon embroidery. The background is a gray green Mornay silk and there are sixteen beige and pink richly made flowers. There are accents of fine oval silver sequins. The inside is a quilted beige silk satin with a gray green cord trim. There are two wide light blue silk satin ribbons to tie it closed, I am not sure if these are original. The condition is good. There are a few sequins missing see photo) and there is some pale staining on the blue ribbons. There are no spots or tears. The closed size is 8x8 inches (20x20 cm) I would guess it was made in the very early 1900’s. This vanity it would make a lovely wedding gift.
