Freeman McFarlin Calif Pot Cute Sit. Cocker Spaniel
These are often mistaken for pieces by the famous Hagen Renaker.I think all of or at least most of the California potteries back then dyed the slip like Hagen Renaker did.I have seen several different poses of this dog and they are all very cute.He has no damage and only minor crazing. He is about 2 1/4" tall.

Vint Roselane California Small Glossy Green Owl
Roselane produced ceramics in California in the 60's on and were friends of the owners of Hagen Renaker. To help their friends get started HR took orders, and then after Roselane made the ordered items, packed and shipped them also. Many Roselane items can be found with Hagen Renaker stickers on them. The main difference is that most Roselane have set in eyes, either very sparkly rhinestones,a small black bead or like this guy plastic that look very much like glass. This one is a glossy breen with black shading. He is very cute,in excellent shape, unmarked, and is about 2 1/4" tall.

Huge Beautiful Giraffe Probably Freeman McFarlin
Here is a wonderful piece that I am 99.9% positive was made by the Freeman McFarlin pottery company of California in the 50's or 60's.He would make a wonderful companion to the Hagen Renaker Designers Workshop Mama and baby Giraffe. His spots are not indented but are slightly raised and his slip is dyed as the Hagen Renaker company and several other California companies did as well as a couple of Japan companies did.His detail is wonderful and the colors are great. He is a little comical which also shouts Freeman, many of their animals were on the comical side while being also realistic in form.I have always thought he was mint and found while taking his photos that one knob on his head has been repaired. It is only noticeable because of some excess glue.If he does not sell,he will go in with my HR giraffe who is still awaiting her baby. He is about 11 1/4" tall.

McFarlin Calif Pot Standing Old English Bulldog Pup
These are often mistaken for pieces by the famous Hagen Renaker.I think all of or at least most of the California potteries back then dyed the slip like Hagen Renaker did.It is strange how some of these potteries merged or bought each other out. This one has the original sticker from McFarlin Potteries El Monte California. He is in excellent condition with some crazing but does have a glaze chip on the underside of the left ear and a pinpoint on the other ear that I just discovered. He is about 1 1/2" tall.

Hedi Schoop,Cal Deco/ Dutch Style Chicken Planter
This is an unusual looking chicken or possibly some other bird.It has a Dutch or deco look and is in a dark cranberry pink with TONS of gold decoration. The use of the piece is also in question,it might be a planter or it might be an ash tray for cigars or pipes as the two places which remind me of what you find on an ashtray are deep and wide as they would need to be for a cigar or pipe stem.It is fully signed and the only damage I have found is a small chip on the left side of the top of the crown of the bird which also look like it was meant to hole either a lighter or matches.Someone colored it in with a dark color and it really does not show that badly but while checking I found I have added one more small chip which is white on the same side but toward the back so it will show when displayed from this side but not on the other side.I have not found any crazing which is very unusual for older California pottery.Neat piece!!!!!!!! It is about 5 1/2" tall.

Vintage Freeman McFarlin Baseball Playing Mouse
I have two different pieces to this set.I do not know how many are in it.This is the one throwing the ball.He will not stand due to the fact he has a repaired tail which needs cleaned and re-set and I think then he will stand. He also has a very tiny chip on the back of each ear (probably from falling backwards due to the tail!!These are both crazed but that is not damage. These are so cute.He also has Watkins Glen,N.Y written in ink on his side. This would come off with lighter fluid with no problem. He has no other damage and is about 2" tall.

Vint Cleminsons Pottery Nanny Lady Bell
This is a beautiful piece of vintage California pottery which I am very sure is Cleminsons. It has a green seal inside the bell but it is smeared and hard to read.It is positively California pottery,it is highly crazed and has a long hairline crack in the front from the bottom to nearly her hands. There is no other damage, also no clapper but the ribbon used for it is still there. She has no painted details on her face. She really looks like a nanny or a maid with her little cap and pinafore. She is about 6 1/8" tall.I also just broke her head.It is a pretty clean break so it will not really hurt her since she is not perfect anyway.

Robert Simmons California Pottery Large Nimbi Fawn
This is a wonderful piece of older California pottery, probably done in the 50's or 60's in the era when so many of the potterys were producing figurines. His facial detail and coloring is just wonderful,so expressive. He still carries both stickers though somewhat faded. He is flawless,I am not even able to find the crazing found on most of the older California pottery.I cannot describe him well enough to convey his beauty,I hope the photos do.His name is Nimbi. He is almost 9 1/2" tall.

Vint Freeman McFarlin California Standing White Duck
I do have the matching pair of these duck, the other one is being sold in another auction. They are both the normal brown and gray shaded off white with black and green eyes and green beaks. They are both signed Anthony and have the felt furniture savers on the bottom. This one is the standing duck, numbered 125.This one has a break the takes in both feet. The right one is broken at the leg and it goes to the first toe on the left foot. There are a couple of chips also but with the color it really does not show much at all.He stands well and is still a nice piece. Both are priced low with no reserve. He is about 7 3/4" tall.

Darling Mini Freeman McFarlin Cocker Spaniel Puppy
Many years ago while first starting my Hagen Renaker collection,I thought these were made by them but they are vintage Freeman McFarlin, another California pottery company who also made small and large animals in the 50's through the 80's when the Hagen Renaker company purchased the Freeman company. They have since closed this factory but continue to produce from the original San Dimas factory.Freeman is no longer in business. This is the cutest piece, there were several different positions of this guy and this one is laying flat with his ears out beside him.He is in excellent condition with only crazing and is pleading to come home with you.He is about 3/4" tall.
