I have looked and looked at these and feel no way could they be monkeys.They look too much like bears to me.You will have to be the judge.They are very unusual and are a white matte bisque porcelain with gray shadings.The Japan is set into the porcelain in the back and I can find no damage but some minor paint ware.If you collect this type of figurine,these with be a cool addition to your collection. It is about 1 3/8" tall.
