MIR1005

Ornate Mirror Cut Glass Molded Ornate Wall Frame This is a very nice, heavy, ornate framed wall mirror, with cut glass enhancements on the mirror, and very ornate frame with the top crown design which is an acanthus leaf and floral garland design. The frame is made of hardwood, with applied, ornate molded floral design mostly. The applied material can be brittle on these antique mirrors, and often we see these with much of the applied work missing. This one is in very good shape in terms of the frame, very well made with only one small piece of the applied molded work missing in the top right-hand corner of the crown area. Hardly noticeable. We also note some minor flaking on some of the smoother areas of the frame near or at the bottom. The mirror glass is in good shape, we note the silver on the back of the mirror has some minor crazing that appear like tiny random black lines if you look at the mirror up close, but from a distance, the mirror appears normal in terms of reflection. About 98% of the mirror silver is in very good shape, so you don't see any issues with the mirror unless you are looking at it from less than a few feet away. The size of the frame is 15" x 30". A note on shipping. We do our very best to package these old mirrors for safe shipment, including additional padding and foam, and a heavy duty shipping box. This does add weight and cost to the shipping and handling, but increase the odds against damage in transport.
Circa: early 1900's
Condition: Good+

MIR1011

Ornate Mirror Scallop Beveled Glass Molded Ornate Wall This is a very nice, ornate framed wall mirror, with very rarely seen scallop beveled edge glass enhancements on the mirror, and very ornate frame with the top crown design which is an Aladdin's lamp and floral garland design. The frame is made of hardwood, with applied, ornate molded floral design mostly. The applied material can be brittle on these antique mirrors, and often we see these with much of the applied work missing. This one is in good shape in terms of the frame, well made with only five small pieces of the applied molded work missing mostly on the bottom corners, and some smaller pieces in the top crown area. Hardly noticeable from a distance. Please note the fancy back etched design near the top of the mirror, very unusual process, and about as rare as the scalloped beveled edges! The mirror glass is in great shape, we see very little issue with the mirror silver. About 99% of the mirror silver is intact. The size of the frame is 11" x 25.5". There is two brass screws that secure the mirror to the frame as an additional decoration and security. A note on shipping. We do our very best to package these old mirrors for safe shipment, including additional padding and foam, and a heavy duty shipping box. This does add weight and cost to the shipping and handling, but increase the odds against damage in transport.
Circa: early 1900's

Click for more detail...
T23255

Philco No. 41-225 AM Police Radio Veneer Wood Cabinet This is a hard to find early 1940's vintage, AM/POLICE radio with a very nice hardwood/Veneer wood cabinet. This one also has the push button selector at the top middle, and a selector switch that allow you to use either the buttons or the tuning dial knob. The buttons all seem to work fine, but I didn't try to set any stations. The dial lights up when you plug it in and turn it on. We were able to tune in AM stations without attaching an antena. The off switch also works fine as well at the selector, and the tuning knob features. This one has the original backing, a good paper label on the bottom that reads "PHILCO MODEL 41-25 CODE 121 115 VOLTS A.C. OR D.C. 30 WATTS. It also has a tube diagram on it. It does have an internal antenna, or you can hook up an outside type as an option. The clear plastic covering over the dial is fits good but has crack in the lower righthand corner. The crack is still fit together, so no dust is getting inside. The veneer is very nice with inlayed area from the rounded front to the back in horizontal strips. The cloth speaker covering is a little frayed at the top, a little stretched, otherwise in good shape. The cabinet is 8.2H x 6.9D X 13" Long overall. The finish has a few minor scratches, and the top has some minor dryed varnish issue, but polishes up nice, and looks much better than most we have seen. We do not do radio repair work, so we have tryed to give an ample description of what works. We didn't get any police band reception, but we do live in a rural community also. A good solid, nice looking radio that will play!

T23251

AIR KING No. 4604-F Radio AM SW SB Veneer Wood Cabinet This is a hard to find 1940's vintage, AM/SHORTWAVE radio with a very nice hardwood/Veneer wood cabinet. This one has a very well constructed cabinet with 4 different hardwood control knobs. We have tested this one. The dial lights up when you plug it in and turn it on. We were able to tune in AM stations without attaching an antenna, this model has no internal antenna, so we didn't get any shortwave broadcasts. The off switch also works fine as well at the selector, and the tuning knob features. We are able to tune stations, but the selector on the dial doesn't go all the way across the glass station dial for some reason. We assume that the tuning adjustment is out of adjustment, but it will move about half the scale distance. This one has the original backing, a good paper label on the bottom that reads "AIR KING MODEL 4604-F 110-125 VOLTS A.C. 40 WATTS. It also has a tube diagram on it, and we note it has a phono pick-up input plug on this model also. It doesn't have an internal antenna, but you can hook up an outside type as an option. The clear plastic covering over the dial is fits good, no cracks or damage. The veneer is very nice on the sides and front, but some dried varnish issues on the top that have caused some of the varnish to come off on about 50% of the top. The metal screen type speaker covering must have had a glued on type cross slash type design on it that has come off about 70% of the screen covering, otherwise the screen is well attached and in good shape. The cabinet is 9.75H x 8.75D X 17" Long overall. The finish has a few minor scratches, but polishes up nice, and looks nice. We do not do radio repair work, so we have tried to give an ample description of what works. We didn't get any SW band reception, and we do note that this unit also has another selection on the band knob, "RP" and we didn't pick up anything with that either, but we do live in a rural community also, and have no antenna to attach to this radio for better reception. This one also has a good electric cord and plug, appears original. A good solid, well made, nice looking radio that will play!

EB8875

Walnut Document or Jewelry Box w Inlay This is a nice artistic table box that you can use to store all sorts of things! It is in nice shape with nice geometric designs on the four sides and leaf shapes in green on the top, all are inlay. The wood inlay on the sides is 1/16" thick, and I don't know how thick on the top leaf inlay, and I'm not sure what the material is used seen in the green and white leaves, and center wheel. It is very nicely done, with a few smaller dings on the various surfaces, but not bad for it's age. Amazingly the all the inlay is still in place! The inside has some old felt in green on the top and bottom and the top is covered with an old paper decoration as you can see in the pictures. The paper is worn and torn a bit, and the felt is worn, but not bad. Looks like there used to be an old lock set, which has been removed at sometime in the past. The box construction is solid, good firm joints, nice select hardwoods, no cracks in the wood. Just an outstanding box I think, because of the artistic design and attention to detail! Inside sizes are 8 1/2 x 5 1/4 x 1 3/4".
Circa: 1890-1910
