Stiffel Torchere Lamps Brass Pair Exquisite Offering these two 38 inch tall Stiffel brass torchere style table lamps, very elegant. Bases are solid brass smooth with one band of detailed raised leaves. The stems have an soft matte ivory finish with these wonderful intricate designed grape leaf and clusters wrapping around. The top brass area has scrolled acanthus leaves and a single flower stalk on each side. The shades are white milk glass with a slightly ribbed pattern. Both lamps have duel switches, one on base and one near light globes. The original Stiffel label is still in tact on one lamp; missing on the other one. Good+++ condition on both, no dents or broken pieces, slight patina, excellent quality made that Stiffel is known for - circa 1950-60's, very heavy, wiring is good - both work fine, switches work smoothly. You could add shades or use as they are, they make such a statment! Also would look wonderful with stained glass shades. LIGHT65

Candelabra Lamp Brass Marble Exquisite Large Offering this awesome large electric 44 inch tall candelabra torchere table lamp. 8 inch square brass base has raised enlarged beading and scrolled flowers and leaf designs, next up is a layer of black and white Italian marble, then more brass with beading, cherubs, and acanthus leaves. The stem is metal, (most likely brass) with an ebonized matte finish, raised ribbed pattern; top area is again brass with acanthus leaves. This lamp has a three way light switch. We found these flickering bulbs that look like flames when the lamp is turned on. There is no label or markings at to who made this lamp, but it is definitely of Stiffel quality. Good+++ condition, no cracks or dents, wiring is very good, switch works smoothly, age is unknown - could be 1940-1960's. Click for more detail...
T15048

Antique Navigation Lantern Fresnel Type Lens This is a nice clean heavy duty 110 volt electric lantern with heavy duty mounting hardware, most likely designed for a freighter type ship to light the deck area and the area beyond as well. It has been rewired for home use, but all the original porcelain type fixture hardware is included, and no modification where made or brackets removed when it was rewired, so you can change it back to original if you wish. The wire is a medium heavy duty ground plug type wire. The old bulb socket was about 1.5 times bigger in diameter than the standard home use bulb socket is. The shape of the lens intensifies the light of the 300 watt bulb we put in it, and it is very bright when lit. The mounting hardware is cast steel, the pot shaped lower section is most likely cast iron, as is the top hinged lid. The lens is about 1/2 round, and inside the case behind the bulb from the lens is a polished white porcelain type finish, that also adds intensity to the candle power of this light. From the bottom of the pot section to the top of the hinged lid is 19", the diameter of the top section is 8", and the lens is about 8" high. The mounting hardware can be set to a graduated angle scale, and there is two scale provide, one for swivel, and one for angling up or down. It appear the bracket was designed to mount on a 5" diameter post or bigger, with a 1/2" hole in the center and two others to hold the swivel angle in place, as radial slots are provided. As you can see the green paint is aged, but is clean, and about 85% intact. There is some corrosion on the threaded rods that hold the upper assembly together, but otherwise the metal is in very good shape, no cracks. The lens has one same chip on one of the prisms that extends outward, this chip is not a crack through the glass, but is contained in this one area, shown in the picture of the clear glass lens. The total assembly weight is about 25 pounds. If you plan to set it up outside, it could use some new rubber seals on the upper section. The top section, and lower pot shaped section can be separated, as a three pin, swivel lock with a lock screw system hold the two sections together. There is a W inside a circle logo with the oval under the W, I believe this unit was made by Westinghouse. Very well constructed, we have never seen another like it. Would make a nice fixture in any shore side yard, and you can use what ever watt bulb you wish to get the right amount of light.

Click for more detail...
T26293

Deitz Union Driving Lamp Lantern Patent 1907 This is a good antique driving light, complete with a good burner unit and tank. It appears to be complete with one extra T-handle mounting screw on one side. The body is 11.5" tall and has a 5" diameter glass lens. The glass is solid, and in good shape with one flat spot on the right side next the spring lever that keeps that hinged lens door closed, and also near the area that has two rips in the flared rim that goes around the outside of the lens door. The lens and the door integrity are just fine, the lens fits in there tight, and the door opens and closes perfectly. The inside reflection insert is very clean, as is the burner unit. There is a few small dents noted on the exterior, you can see them in the pictures, none are big or would cause a problem with use. We do not some exterior paint loss, about 50% is still intact. The tail light lens on the back is fine also. There are several patent dates on the back of this lantern, the latest is "JAN-22-07". Also marked "DIETZ UNION DRIVING LAMP NEW YORK U.S.A.". A good clean lantern overall!
Circa: 1907-1910's
Condition: Good
