T24242

Wagner Aluminum Tea Kettle 6 qt. Hinged Lid This is a nice clean 6 quart size hot water or tea kettle marked "WAGNER SIDNEY O 6QT PAT'D FEB. 18, 1902". These kettles were made by Wagner for about 20 years after the patent date. This one is 8" diameter at the base, 10" tall to the top of the wood lid knob, and weight is about 3 pounds (nice heavy casting). These are nice for setting on the wood stove in your house during wood burning season with water in them, as the heat from the stove will put some moisture back into your home! An old fashioned humidifier! This one features the short spout, hinged lid, and swival bail (made of steel). The handle and knob are black enamels wood, both in good++ solid condition, with minor finish wear. The outside aluminum finish was once highly polished, and as you can see is still quite shiny, but does have some light finish defects, a few scratches, and a very light blackened pitted effect, often seen in aluminum due to the porous nature of the alloy material. It most likely could be polished once again to a chrome like finish, but would require some time, and good metal polish to do it. The bail is clean, some minor pitting, in good++ shape overall. A nice looking antique kettle overall!
Circa: 1902-20
Condition: Good++
Manufacturer: Wagner Sidney Ohio USA

T24247

Wear-Ever Aluminum Tea Kettle Hinged Lid No. 331 This is a nice clean hot water or tea kettle marked "WEAR-EVER T.A.C.U. CO. TRADE MARK NO. 331". These kettles were made by T.A.C.U. CO. USA (THE ALUMINUM COOKING UTENSIL CO.) for about 10 years beginning in 1903. This one is 9" diameter at the base, 7" tall to the top of the wood lid, and weight is about 4 pounds (nice heavy casting)about a 5 qt. size. These are nice for setting on the wood stove in your house during wood burning season with water in them, as the heat from the stove will put some moisture back into your home! An old fashioned humidifier! This one features the short gooseneck spout, hinged lid w/ automatic activation lever to open the lid by touching the bail wire to the lever that is attached to the lid, and swival bail (made of steel) with the spring coil handle area. The outside aluminum finish has a matted type finish, sort of a dark gray color, and does have some minor finish defects, a few scratches, and a very light blackened pitted effect, often seen in aluminum due to the porous nature of the alloy material, but overall very nice looking, consistant surface finish. The inside has some mineral build up in the bottom mostly, could be cleaned with a mineral desolver if you wish, depending on desire use. The bail is clean, some rust pitting, in good+ shape overall. A nice looking heavy cast wall, rounded antique kettle overall! No cracks, no damage, minor wear.
Circa: 1903-15
