T8502
Rogers Sheffield Ink Eraser Rosewood This is a very nice 19th century ink eraser marked "ROGERS CUTLERS TO HIS MAJESTY SHEFFIELD ENGLAND" on the steel blade, and "JOESEPH ROGERS & SONS SHEFFIELD" on the case. This is a beautiful hard to find double edges steel blade ink eraser with a very nice rosewood handle. The eraser is 6.5" long overall, and the black cover is 3" long. The eraser is in very good condition with light wear and staining on the steel, the rosewood is very near mint condition. The case is in fragile condition with a rip in the thin paper like material it is made of. I'm not sure if the case was made for this eraser or not, but it is included at no extra cost. A hard to find 19th century writing tool!

Click for more detail...
T16096
Antique Ink Eraser Rosewood Handle This is a very nice 19th century ink eraser marked with a deer head on the bottom of the blade, no names, most likely Rogers or Sheffield. Although this one has a different shape than most ink erasers we have seen, it has the same type beveled cutting edge, like others we have or have had in the past. Before abrasive type ink erasers, a layer of the thicker vintage paper would be trimmed away, but without making a hole in the paper, so a particular bevel was needed on the blade to achieve this. This one has the correct blade angle for this, however the concave part of the blade is uniquely different from others we have seen. Perhaps it was also designed to be a letter opener, or a dual purpose desk top tool. This is a beautiful hard to find double edges steel blade ink eraser with a very nice rosewood handle. The eraser is 5 3/4 inches long overall. The eraser is in very good condition with very minimal light wear on the steel, the rosewood is very near mint condition. A hard to find 19th century writing tool!

Victorian Letter Opener Bamboo Hand Painted Offering this lovely old victorian letter opener, looks to be made of bamboo with delicate hand painted floral branches on stem.
